Cristina Sprague, RN,
FNP
Cristina Sprague, a family nurse practitioner, has worked at South of Market Health Center for more than 20 years. During her time at the health center she has served in several capacities including as the Director of Nursing, Director of Clinic Operations, and more recently as a primary care provider. Before coming to South of Market Health Center Cristina worked in multiple clinical settings at hospitals and elder care facilities. She is licensed as both a Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner, which means she has received special training, is responsible for the primary care of her patients, performing many of the duties of a physician.
Cristina attended the Philippines Women's University and California State University Long Beach. While pursing her advance training as a nurse practitioner, Cristina trained at the renowned Harbor/UCLA Medical Center. As a provider at South of Market Health Center, Cristina sees all patients, but has focused her attention in recent years, maternal and child health. She has regular clinics on-site, but also manages to pursue her second love, which is health care outreach, reaching out and increasing access to other at-risk families and individuals living in the broader South of Market Area. Her passion for community medicine is evident in all her work. When it comes to health care, she is the “go-to” person, on so many levels in this community and at South of Market Health Center.
In her spare time Cristina is active in various activities, but mostly enjoys time with her family and her two beautiful daughters.
