L. Wayne Batmale
The Board of Directors of South of Market Health Center is proud to present the first Westbrook Award for Community Service to our friend and partner Wayne Batmale for his unbridled commitment to volunteerism and selfless service to this community.
Wayne Batmale is a true San Franciscan and native son. Recognizing that he and his family are blessed in many ways, Wayne has always found time to help others. He has given generously and tirelessly to countless organizations during his career and now, in retirement, he is giving even more. It was as a result of his work and interest in the South of Market neighborhood that the seed was planted that would eventually connect Wayne to Westbrook Plaza. Wayne was a member of the first South of Market Project Area Committee where the seed was planted that would connect him to Westbrook Plaza. Always a team, Wayne and his wife Terry live their lives fully by spending much of their time supporting various charitable organizations. In addition to his work with South of Market Health Center as the Chair of their capital campaign, Wayne is also active with Hanna Boys Center, St. Mary’s Cathedral, and St. Anne's Home.
